The former world’s number one Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark) smashed Nao Hibino (Japan) with 2-0 (6:0, 6:1) to advance to the second round of the US Open.

The Dane, who returned to the court at this tournament last year, said she did not know what the future held after confirming that this would be her last appearance for 2024.

“Honestly, I don’t know what my plans are at the moment. My initial thought is that I probably won’t play after that, but I don’t know. Again, wherever I travel, I’ll go with the kids and also have to see what’s best for the family and for me. I don’t know what the future will bring, but for now I’m focusing on that and then I’ll make the next decisions”, said the 34-year-old Caroline Wozniacki.

In the next round Caroline Wozniacki will face Renata Zarazúa (Mexico).
