Caroline Garcia advanced to the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 Guadalajara Open Akron

The 3rd-seeded Caroline Garcia (France) advanced to the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 Guadalajara Open Akron after defeating formed world’s number one Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:4) in 1:38 hours of play.

The French tennis player won the match after one break in the first set and another one break in the second set, saving total of 11 breakpoints, which proved to be enough for her to close the match.

In the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 Guadalajara Open with a prize pool of 2,788,468 USD, Caroline Garcia will face the 2nd-seeded Maria Sakkari (Greece), who eliminated Emiliana Arango (Colombia) after 2-0 (6:3, 6:4).

The American tennis player Caroline Dolehide continue writing her own story at the tournament, defeating Martina Trevisan (Italy) by 2-1 (3:6, 7:6, 6:3) and qualified for the semi-finals, where will face Sofia Kenin (USA), who eliminated Leylah Fernandez (Canada) after 2-1 (6:4, 6:7, 6:1).

This is the best personal achievement for Caroline Dolehide, who so far has maximum reached the third round of WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open in 2018 and WTA 500 Credit One Charleston Open.
