The women’s basketball team of Canberra Capitals defeated Adelaide Lightning after overtime in the battle of the outsiders of the Australian WNBL. The both teams are occupying the latest positions in the league.
The hosts of Canberra Capitals reached the victory after overtime by 97-90 (23-25, 22-8, 18-24, 22-28, 12-5).
Jade Melbourne was the most effective for Canberra Capitals with 21 pts, 5 rebs, and 11 asts. Rae Burrell and Brittany Smart added 18 points each for the victory.
The most valuable player of the match was Adelaide Lightning’s forward Stephanie Talbot, who finished with 33 pts, 17 rebs, and 4 asts. Isobel Borlase added 21 points for the visitors, but this was not enough to achieve the victory.
The both teams are playing again on February 18, but Adelaide Lightning have another match 2 days before versus Perth Lynx.
