Camila Giorgi won the titles at the WTA 250 Merida Open Akron in Mexico with a prize pool of 259,303 USD. The Italian tennis player defeated the Swedish qualifier Rebecca Peterson with 2-1 (7:6, 1:6, 6:2) in the final match that lasted 2:25 hours.
It is the fourth career title for Camila Giorgi and her first since 2021 when she won in Montreal.
