Bulgarian women’s volleyball team decisively defeated the Republic of Korea in a friendly match

The volleyball players from the Bulgarian women’s national team decisively defeated the Republic of Korea with 3:0 (25:19, 28:26, 25:20) in the first friendly match between the two teams, played this evening in Sofia.

After that, according to the agreement of the two team, two additional games were played. The fourth part was also won by the Bulgarian volleyball players with 25:22, while the fifth game was won by the guests from the Republic of Korea – 15:8.

Tomorrow (September 19) at 1:00 p.m. the two teams will play the second friendly match. The matches are final preparation before the start of the World Cup in Poland and the Netherlands.

Bulgaria coach Lorenzo Micelli started with Lora Kitipova, Silvana Chausheva, Elitsa Vasileva Atanasijevic, Gergana Dimitrova, Nasya Dimitrova, Mira Todorova and libero Mila Pashkuleva. Due to an injury, the main libero Zhana Todorova is not in the lineup.

After the calm start of the first game, Bulgaria led by three points 16:13. The lead of the Bulgarian Lionplayers esses grew to 22:16. In the end, Bulgaria closed and won the game with 25:19 after a successful attack by Gergana Dimitrova.

The second game started with certain difficulties for Bulgaria. After weaknesses in reception, the Korean women took the lead with 10:6. However, this was temporary and the Bulgarian girls equalized at 12:12. A point-for-point game ensued, which was maintained almost to the end. The Korean women reached gameball at 24:22, but the Bulgarian women showed character. After Mira Todorova’s service, including an ace, the score was 24:24. In the end, the Bulgarian team showed more patience and resilience and pulled out the game after 28:26.

In the third game, the Bulgarian women were more than unchallenged and dictated the game the whole time, winning the game with 25:20.
