Bulgarian women’s volleyball national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the European Championship after turnover over the match versus Slovakia to 3-2 (16:25, 17:25, 25:19, 25:20, 15:9) played in front of about 2,000 spectators in the Palazzo Vani hall in Florence (Italy).
Thus, Bulgaria advances to the quarter-finals of the championship, which happens for the first time since 2019. On the other hand, Slovakia can repeat the best achievement in its history, finishing in 9/16th place in the final ranking compared to the results in the other Round of 16.
There, the team will face the Netherlands, which decisively beat Switzerland by 3-0 (25:17, 25:19, 25:12). The quarter-finals match will be on Tuesday (August 29) again in Florence.
In the other matches from the Round of 16, Turkey defeated Belgium by 3-1 (25:22, 16:25, 25:15, 32:30) and will face Poland, whose players defeated Germany after 3-0 (25:22, 25:20, 25:24)
