Bulgarian rhythmic gymnasts won four titles and a total of eight medals in Cluj

Bulgarian rhythmic gymnasts won a total of eight medals (four gold, three silver, and one bronze) in the women’s Rhythmic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in the Romanian city of Cluj.

The Bulgarian ensemble was indisputable and won all three titles. After the gold in the all-around, today Vesela Dimitrova’s team became the champions of the five-hoop and two-ball/three-ribbon finals.

The team consisting of Zhenina Trashlieva, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov, Margarita Vasileva and Radina Tomova received a total score of 35,250 points, of which 18,000 were for difficulty. Israel is in second place with 34,550 points, and Spain is in third place with 34,450 points.

On ribbons and balls, the Bulgarian gymnasts again played hard and took the gold with 31,550 points, of which 15,600 were for difficulty. The ranking is followed by Spain with 29,700 points and Germany with 29,400 points.

Boryana Kaleyn won the silver medals in hoop and ball, and Stiliana Nikolova became champion in clubs and third in hoop.

Boryana Kaleyn played both of her compositions strongly and was scored 35.700 points on the hoop and 34.200 points on the ball. Stiliana Nikolova took bronze in the hoop final with 34.450 points and finished fifth in ball with 33.500 points.

The Italian Sofia Raffaeli won the gold on the hoop with 36,050 points, and on the ball the champion is Daria Atamanov from Israel with 34,800 points, and Milena Baldassarri (Italy) came third with 33,950 points.

Stiliana Nikolova performed brilliantly in the bats and won the gold medal with 35,350 points. She is followed by the European all-around champion from Euro 2022 in Tel Aviv Daria Atamanov (Israel) with 34,900 points and the best Italian Sofia Raffaeli with 34,850 points.

On tape, the two Bulgarians made mistakes and were left out of the competition places. Boryana Kaleyn ranked fifth with 29,800 points, and Stiliana Nikolova – eighth with 26,550 points.

The ribbon champion was Sofia Raffaeli with 34,400 points, ahead of Daria Atamanov with 33,850 points and Fanni Pigniczki (Hungary) with 30,200 points.

A total of 41 women and 17 ensembles participated in the World Cup in Cluj. The competition was a final test before the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Sofia from September 14 to 18.
