Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast Boryana Kaleyn won the “Gymnast of 2021” award

Bulgarian individual rhythmic gymnast Boryana Kaleyn won the “Gymnast of 2021” online survey of the European Gymnastics. For 12 days, fans of this sport had the opportunity to vote on the federation’s website and social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).

The Euro 2021 runner-up in Varna triumphed with 97,746 votes in the competition of Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Linoy Ashram (Israel), Dina Averina (Russia), Sofia Raffaeli (Italy), and Alina Harnasko (Belarus).

“Being chosen ‘Gymnast of 2021’ is a great recognition! Thank you to everyone who supported me and voted for me. This award will be a great motivation for me to keep trying to show a different gymnastics of the carpet”, said Boryana Kaleyn.

In the women’s artistic gymnast, the winner is Jessica Gadirova (Great Britain) with 12,196 votes, in the men’s category the winner is Ferhat Arıcan (Turkey) with 24,711 votes.

Nominations for each category were made by Technical Committees, experts, and the 50 federations that are members of European Gymnastics.
