The Bulgarian ensemble won the all-around title at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in the Romanian city of Cluj. This is the second medal for the national team in the tournament after earlier Stiliana Nikolova took silver in the women’s all-around and Boryana Kaleyn finished fourth.
The team consisting of Zhenina Trashlieva, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov, Margarita Vasileva and Radina Tomova has a total of 66,200 points and took the gold medals. Today, Vesela Dimitrova’s graduates showed their new combination with three ribbons and two balls. They had some inaccuracies but received the first-ever score of 30,800 points, of which 15,200 were for difficulty.
Yesterday, the Bulgarian women received 35,400 points for their composition with five hoops, and on Sunday they will participate in both finals.
Second place in the all-around went to Israel with 65,850 points (36,450 five hoops and 29,400 three bars/two balls), while Spain won тхе bronze with 64,700 points (34,350 and 30,350).
In the top 6 are also the teams of Mexico, France, and Brazil.
Thus, the Bulgarian ensemble will participate in nine out of ten possible finals on Sunday. Among the women, Stiliana Nikolova is a finalist in hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon, Boryana Kaleyn will fight for the medals in hoop, ball, and ribbon, and in the ensembles, Bulgaria will participate in both finals – with five hoops and with three ribbons/two balls.
17 ensembles and 41 individual gymnasts participated in the tournament in Cluj. The competition is the last test before the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Sofia from September 14 to 18.
