Bulgarian women’s national volleyball team achieved their first victory at the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifications in Japan. The Bulgarian players smashed Peru by 3-0 (25:13, 25:18, 25:16) in their 5th match of the Group B tournament.

Thus, the Bulgarian “lionesses” remain in the 7th place in the temporary ranking in the group, but already with 1 win, 4 losses and 4 points, the same as the 6th Argentina, but with a better game ratio. Tomorrow (September 23) the two teams will play against each other.

Peru continues to be at the bottom, in the last 8th position, without a win so far and only one game won. Tomorrow, the Peruvian women will face Puerto Rico in the first match of the day.

The most effective for Bulgaria was Maria Yordanova with 15 points (2 blocks, 43% efficiency in attack and 13% perfect reception) for the victory. Borislava Saykova (2 blocks and 63% attack efficiency) and captain Miroslava Paskova (1 block, 48% attack efficiency and 8% perfect reception) added another 12 and 11 points for the success.

In the other matches from the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifications, Canada defeated Ukraine by 3-1 (25:22, 23:25, 25:12, 25:11), while Dominican republic served the big surprise winning their match versus Serbian by 3-1 (25:23, 18:25, 25:2, 25:17).

Puerto Rico turnover over Argentina by 3-2 (28:30, 19:25, 25:19, 25:23, 15:8).
