The 2019 world silver medalist Brittany Brown won the 200m sprint at the Spitzen Leichathletik Luzern in 22.05 sec in her first race of the season at the distance. She was ahead of her compatriot Jenna Prandini by 0.44 sec and with this result came to seventh place in the world rankings for the season.
Brittany Brown will compete in the 100 meters at the World Championships in Budapest in August after finishing second at the US national qualifiers in a personal best of 10.90 sec.
“I’m very happy because it was my first 200m start of the season. I competed in this tournament in 2018 and 2022 and I always enjoy the atmosphere and the support from the crowd”, said Brittany Brown after her victory.
Brittany Brown is an American sprinter. She won the silver medal at the 2019 World Championships in the 200m event. Attending Claremont High School she set the all time 100m school record with a time of 11.49 sec and the wind legal school record of 11.59 sec both of which still stand. Going alongside her 100m school records she also set the all time 200m record with a time of 23.68 sec and the wind legal record of 23.79 sec. At the 2023 Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships, Brittany Brown placed second in the 100m with a personal best time of 10.90 sec. This result qualified her for the 2023 World Athletics Championships.
