Jodie Burrage is a British tennis player. She has a career-high WTA singles ranking of world’s No 106 and has won five singles titles on the ITF Circuit.
Jodie Burrage was born on May 28, 1999, in Kingston upon Thames, London, the United Kingdom. She won a scholarship to Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth, which enabled her to develop her tennis at the nearby West Hants Club. Following the completion of GCSE exams Burrage relocated to Junior Tennis Coaching (JTC) in Chiswick, London. In 2012, Jodie Burrage won the titles at the Aegon Junior International Wrexham, Aegon Junior International Solihull, and Dublin U1, while in the next season won the Aegon Junior International Liverpool and reached the Round of 16 of the Junior Orange Bowl. During her junior career, she won also titles at the 2014 J60 Oslo \ ITF Oslo Open, 2014 J5 Corradino \ San Michel International Junior U/18, 2016 J300 Casablanca \ Mediterranee Avenir, 2016 J200 Salsomaggiore \ Torneo Bayer di Salsomaggiore Terme, 2016 J200 Siauliai \ Siauliai Open, but also was the runner-up at the 2016 Yucatan Cup.
Jodie Burrage made her professional debut in 2014 at the $25,000 W25 Barnstaple (UK), reaching the second round. During the next two seasons, she played at three more ITF tournaments and reached the quarter-finals of the $10,000 Chiswick (UK).
In 2017, Jodie Burrage played her first ITF final at the $15,000 W15 Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) and won her first title at the $15,000 W15 Dublin (Ireland). By the end of the season, she played in tournaments in Egypt and the United Kingdom, playing in several semi-finals.
Jodie Burrage won her second ITF title in 2018 again at the $15,000 W15 Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt). During the season she played at some higher-rated ITF tournaments, including $100,000 W100 Surbiton (UK) and $50,000 W60+H Bendigo (Australia).
In 2019, Jodie Burrage won her third ITF title at the $25,000 W25 Jerusalem (Israel), but also finished as the runner-up at the $25,000 W25 Bolton (UK) and $25,000 W25 Jodhpur (India).
She continue playing in the ITF Circuit in 2020 and despite the shorter season, she played the final at the $15,000 W15 Monastir (Tunisia) and $25,000 W25 Montemor-O-Novo (Portugal).
Jodie Burrage made her WTA debut in 2021, playing at the main scheme of the WTA 500 Abu Dhabi WTA Women’s Tennis Open. However, she lost in the first round to her compatriot Heather Watson. During the season, she played also at the WTA 250 Rothesay Open Nottingham and WTA 250 Livesport Prague Open, as well as debuted at the Grand Slam at Wimbledon. Meanwhile, she won the title of the $25,000 W25 Dubai (UAE) and was the runner-up at the $25,000 W25 Les Contamines-Montjoie (France).
In 2022, Jodie Burrage had already collected enough experience and started playing at higher-rated tournaments. She was the runner-up at the $100,000 W100 Ilkley (UK) and the $60,000 W60 Lexington, KY (USA). Also reached the third round of the WTA 500 Rothesay International Eastbourne, as well as the second rounds of the WTA 250 Zavarovalnica Sava Portoroz, WTA 250 Rothesay Open Nottingham, and WTA 125 Odlum Brown VanOpen. Meanwhile, she played again in the main scheme of Wimbledon but again lost in the first round.
Jodie Burrage played her first WTA final in 2023, remaining the runner-up at the WTA 250 Rothesay Open Nottingham. During the season she won the title at the $60,000 W60 Croissy-Beaubourg (France) and was the runner-up at the $60,000 W60 Canberra (Australia).
