British sprinter Victoria Ohuruogu has been cleared of an anti-doping rule violation

British sprinter Victoria Ohuruogu has been cleared of an anti-doping rule violation over an alleged prohibited relationship with a suspended athlete. The 31-year-old athlete is said to have been coached by her boyfriend Antonio Infantino, who is serving a three-year doping ban.

But this was rejected by the United Kingdom Anti-Doping Agency (UKAD).

British 400m champion Victoria Ohuruogu said the charge had cost her “a lot” and hampered her preparations for the Olympics.

“I can confirm that an independent panel has categorically rejected the allegation of a prohibited relationship against me”, said Victoria Ohuruogu, who received her state funding and will be aiming to qualify for Paris 2024 Olympics. “I take my anti-doping duties extremely seriously and I am pleased that the truth of the matter – which is exactly what I have always maintained – has now been confirmed”, added she.

Victoria Ohuruogu is an English track athlete who competes in the 400m. She won the silver medal in the event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She is the younger sister of Christine Ohuruogu, and has seven other siblings.
