British record-holder Tiffany Porter announced her retirement from athletics

British track and field athlete Tiffany Porter, who has won four world and four European medals in sprint, has announced her retirement from athletics.

The 34-year-old athlete, who holds the British records in the 60m and 100m hurdles, announced her decision on Friday, adding that she was excited to start a new phase in her life.

In her 12-year professional career, Tiffany Porter won three medals at the 60m World Championships – silver in 2012 and bronze medals in 2014 and 2016. Tiffany Porter also won a bronze medal in the 100m at the World Outdoor Championships in Moscow in 2013

At the European level, Tiffany Porter is the champion of 100m hurdles from Zurich in 2014 and also won bronze from Amsterdam in 2016. Indoor, she won silver at 60m hurdles from Paris 2011 and bronze from Torun 2021.

Tiffany Porter has competed in the Olympics three times. On her debut in London 2012, she reached the semifinals in the 100m, finished seventh in Rio 2016. In 2019, she became the mother of a baby girl, then returned to the track and managed to qualify for Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where also reached the semifinals.
