The second set started well for Luisa Stefani and Laura Pigossi, who took an early break, and then showed a solid game, which brought them success with 6:4.

The drama occurred in the decisive third set, when Veronika Kudermetova and Elena Vesnina took the lead with 9:5, which meant four points to win the bronze medals. At that moment, there was an impulse in the game of Luisa Stefani and Laura Pigossi and they made six consecutive points, which brought them the victory with 11:9.
