Ellen Braga

Ellen Braga is a Brazilian volleyball player, who plays as an outside hitter in SL Benfica at the Portuguese Divisao 1. She is a gold medalist at the Montreux Volley Masters, Alassio Cup, and World Military Championship with the national team, and also won twice the gold at the South American Club Championship and earned the bronze at the Women Club World Championship.

Ellen Braga was born on June 12, 1991, in Recife, State of Pernambuco, Brazil. She started in volleyball at a young age, showing great talent.

Ellen Braga started her professional career in 2005 for the local club ADC Bradesco, where stayed until 2009, when signed with Sollys Nestle/Osasco to play in the Brazilian Superliga. Already in her maiden season with the club, she won the Brazilian Superliga and South American Club Championship. In the 2010/2011 season, her team again won the South American Club Championship and finished second in the Brazilian Superliga and the Club World Championship.

In 2011, Ellen Braga signed with Rio do Sul/Unimed to win the Catarinense Championship and Liga Nacional, but finished 10th in the Brazilian Superliga. However, she was called for the Brazilian national volleyball team, to play at the Yeltsin Cup, where earned the bronze.

In 2012, Ellen Braga moved to EC Pinheiros, where played for three seasons. During her stay in the club, her biggest success on the club level was winning the Brazilian Cup in 2014/2015. Meanwhile, with the national team she triumphed with Alassio Cup and Montreux Volley Masters in 2013, and with Brazil U23 played at the World Championships U23 2013.

Ellen Braga signed with Sesi-SP in 2015 to win the silver at the Paulista Championship during the 2015/2016 season.

However, just after one year in the team, in 2016, she left and moved to Dentil/Praia Clube, where played for three seasons. Already in her maiden season, her team won the bronze at the Brazilian Superliga and Brazilian Cup, as well as the silver at the Brazilian Supercup and the South American Club Championship. In 2017/2018, Ellen Braga and Dentil/Praia Clube triumphed with the Brazilian Superliga title and were the runner-up at the Brazilian Cup and Mineiro Championship. In the 2018/2019 season, she won the Brazilian Supercup and remained second in the Brazilian Superliga, Mineiro Championship, Brazilian Cup, and South American Club Championship. With the national team, she won the silver at the World Military Championship in 2018 and 2019.

In 2019, Ellen Braga signed with Osasco/Audax. For the only season with the club, she won the silver at the Paulista Championship, but the Brazilian Superliga was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2020, Ellen Braga made a transfer to Turkey, where signed with Can Genclik Kale Spor Akademi Kulubu. She stayed in the club for only one season, finishing 13th in the Women Turkiye Kadinlar Voleybol Ligi and 5th in the Turkish Cup.

In 2021, Ellen Braga signed with VBC Trasporti Pesanti Casalmaggiore to play in the Italian Serie A1, where her team ended 11th in the standings in her maiden season. She played half of the 2022/2023 season with the club, before moving to Poland and signing with MOYA Radomka Lotnisko Warszawa-Radom. In 2023, Ellen Braga signed with her current club SL Benfica to play at the Portuguese Divisao 1.
