Brazilian Ferroviaria won its second Copa Libertadores Women title

Brazilian football club Ferroviaria won its second Copa Libertadores Women title after beating on the final in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Colombian America de Cali with 2-1. This is the third final for Ferroviaria, after winning Colombia 2015 edition and losing Ecuador 2019.

The Brazilian football club started the match aggressively and in the 7th minute, Patricia Sochor executed a direct free-kick that, after hitting the ground, was fired into Katerine Tapia’s goal for the opening score. The team of Ferroviaria made two more dangerous attempts to double the score but missed.

America de Cali did not surrender and went in search of the tie that it achieved in the 39th minute after an infraction on Gisela Robledo that the referee determined as a penalty that was later executed and converted by captain Usme.

The draw did not last long, as in the 42th minute the referee whistled another penalty for Ferroviaria, which was scored by Aline Milene.

The first half ended 2-1.

During the second half, America de Cali unsuccessfully sought a draw, but a great performance by the Brazilian goalkeeper Luciana kept the result unchanged and made Ferroviaria a champion.

In the match for 3rd place, Corinthians won by 4-0 versus U. De Chile, after goals of Maga (35′), Victoria (65′ and 88′), Juliete (74′).
