Volleyball players from the women’s national team of Brazil continue to the semifinals of the Olympic Games in Paris. Selecao easily defeated the Dominican Republic with 3-0 (25:22, 25:13, 25:17) in the quarter-final match of the competition.
In the semi-finals, Brazil will face the United States, who defeated Poland.
In the previous edition of the Games, the Brazilians won the silver after a duel with the USA. They have two titles in their showcase – from 2008 and 2012, as well as two bronzes – from 1996 and 2000.
The Dominican women finished in eighth place, as in the last two editions in which she participated – in 2012 and 2021.
Gabriela Guimaraes was the top scorer with 20 points (1 ace, 3 blocks). Ana Cristina Souza finished with 14 points (3 aces, 1 block).
Yonkaira Pena had 12 points for the opponent.
