Boglarka Takacs became the fastest Hungarian athlete

Boglarka Takacs officially became the fastest Hungarian athlete. The 21-year-old sprinter broke two national records within an hour of competition in Budapest yesterday. She won the 100m with 11.23 sec and the 200m with 22.77 sec.

Boglarka Takacs also became the first Hungarian sprinter with a result under 23 sec in the 200m. Until now, the top achievement was 23.01 sec by Iren Orosz from 1981.

In the Hungarian GP Series Budapest women’s 100m, Boglarka Takacs earned the gold, while the silver went to Jada Baylark (USA) and the bronze was for Michelle-Lee Ahye (Trinidad and Tobago).

In 200m, Boglarka Takacs and Jada Baylark also won the gold and silver, respectively, while the bronze was for Shannon Ray (USA).

The Dominican athlete Anabel Medina Ventura won the gold at 400m with 52.46 sec, followed by Anna Ryzhykova (Ukraine) with 53.07 sec and Bianka Bartha-Keri (Hungary) with 53.45 sec.

The Hungarian athlete Greta Kerekes and Janka Molnar triumphed in the 100m and 400m hurdles, respectively, while the Brazilian Tatiane Raquel da Silva won the women’s 3000m steeplechase.

The high jump competition of the Hungarian GP Series Budapest, the Hungarian athletes dominated with Fedra Fekete winning the gold with 1.83m, Barbara Szabo remained with the silver with 1.80m and Lilianna Batori was third with 1.74m.

The Hungarians dominated also in the long jump with Diana Lesti, Anasztazia Nguyen and Petra Banhidi-Farkas, winning the gold, silver and bronze, respectively.

In the women’s pole vault, Hanga Klekner (Hungary) was the winner with 4.30m, followed by Isabel de Qudros (Brazil) with 4.10m and Virginia Scardanzan (Italy) with 4.00m.

In the women’s triple jump, the victory went to Neja Filipic (Slovenia), followed by Paola Borovic (Croatia) nd Elena Andreea Talos (Romania).
