Bianca Andreescu recorded another victory at the WTA 1000 Miami Open

The 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu (Canada) recorded another victory at the WTA 1000 Miami Open after defeating Sofia Kenin (USA) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4) and will play in the fourth round of the competition.

Bianca Andreescu, who is the world’s No 31, started the match with a break in the fourth game of the first set. She was strong on her serve and did not allow any breakpoint to her opponent and thus closed the set at 6:4.

The second set started even stronger for the Canadian player, who broke her opponent twice and took a lead of 4:1, but Sofia Kenin succeeded to return one of the breaks immediately. However, as in the previous set, Bianca Andreescu did not give a single breakpoint to her opponent and closed the set again at 6:4.

In the Round of 16, Bianca Andreescu will face 18th-seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova (Russia) who defeated Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Belinda Bencic (Switzerland) by 2-0 (7:6, 6:3).

In an all-Czech clash, Marketa Vondrousova beat 17th-seeded Karolína Pliskova by 2-0 (6:1, 6:2), while the Russian player Varvara Gracheva won against Magdalena Frech (Poland) by 2-0 (6:1, 6:2).

Sorana Cirstea (Romania) also reached the fourth round of the tournament after defeating Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic) by 2-0 (7:5, 6:1).
