Bianca Andreescu and Belinda Bencic qualified for the fourth round of the US Open

Former champion Bianca Andreescu won easily with 2-0 (6:1, 6:2) her match versus Greet Minnen and qualified for the fourth round of the US Open.

The 21-year-old Canadian recorded 21 winning shots and showed strong play in the first serve, while the Belgian Greet Minnen won only three games in the entire match, which lasted only 67 minutes.

The sixth-seeded Bianca Andreescu will play versus Maria Sakkari in the next round of the tennis tournament in New York. The Greek, who is world’s No 18, won with 2-0 (6:4, 6:3) her match versus Petra Kvitova.

Maria Sakkari recorded three breaks versus the tenth-seeded Czech player in the scheme to secure a place in the next phase of the fourth Grand Slam tournament of the year. The Greek tennis player equaled her best ranking at Flushing Meadows, reaching the fourth round, similar to last season.

The Olympic champion Belinda Bencic continues with her good game and moves ahead. The 11th-seeded Swiss eliminated Jessica Pegula by 2-0 (6:2, 6:4). The American lost a total of four service games and managed to save three match points, but surrendered after 75 minutes on the court.

Belinda Bencic reached the semifinals in New York in 2019.
