Bernarda Pera qualified for the semifinals of the WTA 250 Tennis In The Land

Bernarda Pera achieved her 13th consecutive victory and qualified for the semifinals of the WTA 250 Tennis In The Land in Cleveland (USA) with a prize fund of 251,750 USD.

The American defeated her compatriot and former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin with 2-1 (6:2, 5:7, 6:3) in a little over two hours on the court.

Bernarda Pera, ranked No 51 in the world, has not lost a match since playing at Wimbledon two months ago. Her next opponent will be the Russian Liudmila Samsonova, who eliminated Magda Linette (Poland) with 2-0 (6:4, 6:3).

Sofia Kenin, who entered the tournament as a wild card, ended her opponent’s streak of 25 consecutive sets after taking the second set of the match. In the third set, however, Bernarda Pera made two breaks and closed the match with her second match point.
