The Tokyo 2020 Olympics champion Belinda Bencic (Switzerland) won the title of the tennis tournament WTA 500 Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open. In the final, the second-seeded Belinda Bencic prevailed over Liudmila Samsonova (Russia) by 2-1 (1:6, 7:6, 6:4) after 2 hours and 48 minutes of play.
The Swiss tennis player showed great nerve as she saved three match points in the second set tiebreak. Before that, she also saved three break points in a 5:5 game in the second set to win it with 10:8 points in the tiebreak.
In the decisive third set, the Swiss twice led with a break, and the second was enough to win the match.
For Belinda Bencic, this is the second title in the year after the one in the Adelaide tournament in January.

Belinda Bencic has a career-high ranking of No 4 by the Women’s Tennis Association which she achieved in February 2020. Bencic has won eight singles titles, including a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour
