Tokyo 2020 Olympics tennis champion Belinda Bencic qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open. The Swiss tennis player defeated Marta Kostyuk (Ukraine) by 2-0 (6:4, 7:5) in 1:36 hours.
Belinda Bencic won 66% of the first serve points and 86% of the second serve. She achieved one break in the first set and lose it by 6:4 on her first set point.
The second set started with Belinda Bencic, who took a lead of 2:0. However, her Ukrainian opponent returned the break and equalized the score to 2:2. Chinese player Qinwen Zheng eliminated the fifth-seeded Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia) by 2-0 (7:6, 6:1).
