Belinda Bencic advanced to the third round of the US Open 2022

Belinda Bencic continue playing strong at the US Open 2022 and qualified for the third round. The Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion won her match versus Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea by 2-1 (3:6, 7:5, 6:2).

Sorana Cirstea started very strong in the first set and took the win by 6:3 and even served for the match in the second set, but Belinda Bencic broke her and finally took it by 7:5. The third set was under the total dominance of the Swiss player, who won the match and qualified for the third round, where will face the winner between the Czech players Karolina Pliskova and Marie Bouzkova.

Victoria Azarenka also advanced to the second round after a straight-set victory versus Marta Kostyuk.

The German Jule Niemeier also carried a surprise, eliminating Yulia Putintseva by 2-0 (6:4, 6:3).
