Aliaksandra Sasnovich is a Belarusian tennis player, who achieved her best singles ranking of world No 29 on September 19, 2022. She has won eleven singles and seven doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. She reached a Grand Slam semifinal in doubles at the 2019 US Open with Viktoria Kuzmova.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich was born on March 22, 1994, in Minsk, Belarus. She was introduced to tennis at an early age and proved her skills by winning the titles at the 2007 Amos Mansdorf 2, 2008 Vilnius Mayor’s Cup 14&U, 2010 Memorial Nico Crotti, and 2011 J2 Novi Sad \ Serbia Junior Open. Definitely, she was one of the most prominent tennis players in Eastern Europe.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich made her professional ITF debut in 2010 at the $25,000 W25 Moscow (Russia), but lost in the first round. However, later during the season, she had a fantastic performance at the $10,000 Imola Tozzona (Italy) and $10,000 Minsk (Belarus), reaching the semi-finals, as well as $25,000 Tbilisi (Georgia), reaching the quarter-finals.
In 2011, Aliaksandra Sasnovich played in both the ITF professional circuit and the junior tour. She was the runner-up at the J200 Salsomaggiore \ Torneo Bayer di Salsomaggiore Terme and Canadian World Ranking Event U18 but also reached the quarter-finals of the JB1 Klosters \ European Junior Championships. During the season, she won her first ITF title at the $10,000 Cagliari (Italy).
Aliaksandra Sasnovich continues gaining experience during the next season, winning the titles at the $10,000 Pomezia (Italy), $10,000 St. Petersburg (Russia), and $25,000 W25 Minsk (Belarus). During the season, she had also two semi-finals at the $10,000 Tallinn (Estonia) and $10,000 Astana (Kazakhstan).
In 2013, the Belarusian tennis player won her most prestigious titles at the $100,000 Poitiers (France) and $50,000 W60 Nantes (France), but also triumphed at the $25,000 Tallinn (Estonia) and $10,000 W15 Netanya (Israel).
Aliaksandra Sasnovich made her WTA debut in 2014, playing at the WTA 250 Tashkent Open, and reached the second round of the tournament. She also debuted in the Grand Slam tournament, playing at the US Open, where also reached the second round. Later during the season, she reached the main scheme of the WTA 500 VTB Kremlin Cup but lost in the first round. However, she also played in the ITF Circuit, where won trophies at the $25,000 W25 Moscow (Russia) and $25,000 Brescia (Italy).
In 2015, Aliaksandra Sasnovich reached her first WTA final at the WTA 250 Hana Bank Korea Open, but lost to Irina-Camelia Begu (Romania). She also reached the semi-finals of the $50,000 W60 Saint-Gaudens (France), $50,000 Saint-Petersburg (Russia), and $25,000 W25 Moscow (Russia). During the season she briefly entered the world’s Top 100 but finished at the world’s NO 106
In 2016, Aliaksandra Sasnovich played mostly in the WTA tour, reaching the second rounds of the Australian Open and Wimbledon, but at the end of the season played in the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich turned her calendar entirely into the WTA Tour in 2017. During the season she reached the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Ladies Open Biel Bienne, the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Hungarian Ladies Open and WTA 250 VTB Kremlin Cup, played in the second rounds of the French Open / Roland Garros, the US Open, and the WTA 1000 Miami Open, Thus, she entered in the world’s Top 100 and finished the season as WTA No 88.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich had her best season in 2018. She started the season as a runner-up at the WTA 500 Brisbane International and reached the third round of the Australian Open. In March, she reached the third round of the WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open and the second round of the WTA 1000 Miami Open. In May, she played in the second round of the French Open / Roland Garros and the WTA 1000 Madrid Open. Aliaksandra Sasnovich reached the Round of 16 at Wimbledon and the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Moscow River Cup presented by Ingrad. Later during the season, she reached the third round of the US Open and the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 VTB Kremlin Cup. Thus, she climbed in the world’s ranking and finished the season as the world’s No 30.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich started the season 2019 strongly after reaching the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 Brisbane International and the semi-finals of the WTA 500 Sydney International, as well as the third round of the Australian Open and the WTA 1000 Madrid Open, but then failed to make some more significant success. At the end of the season, however, she became the runner-up at the WTA 125 Open BLS De Limoges.
In 2020, the tennis calendar was short due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, Aliaksandra Sasnovich reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Palermo Ladies Open, WTA 250 TEB BNP Paribas Tennis Championship Istanbul, and WTA 250 Upper Austria Ladies Linz. She also played in the third round of the US Open and the second round of the French Open / Roland Garros.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich reached the fourth round of the WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open in 2021, as well as the third round of the Wimbledon.
In 2022, she made another strong season by being the runner-up at the WTA 250 Melbourne Summer Set II, reaching the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy, the fourth rounds of the WTA 1000 Miami Open, and French Open / Roland Garros. She also was the runner-up at the WTA 250 Tennis in the Land in Cleveland, USA. Following the good season, she climbed back to the world’s Top 30 and achieved her best singles ranking of world No 29 on September 19, 2022.
