Barcelona Femeni won the first leg of the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final match versus AS Roma. The Spanish women footballers won by 1-0 as a visitor with Salma Paralluelo scoring the only goal with a lovely low curling shot from the edge of the box in the 31st minute after a pass by Patricia Guijarro.
Barcelona Femeni controlled the match with 63% ball possession, 34 goal attempts, and 10 shots on goal (against only 4 got the hosts).
However, Valentina Giacinti almost grabbed a surprise equalizer for the hosts, and at the other end, the AS Roma goalkeeper Camelia Ceasar was keeping her team in the contest, saving from Patricia Guijarro’s effort.
Thus, Barcelona Femeni won an important victory in the first leg of the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals as a visitor of AS Roma and in the next match would be quite calmer in the second leg.
In the other quarter-final, Bayern Munich defeated the visitors of Arsenal by 1-0 (1-0). Lea Schuller scored for the German team in the 39th minute after an assist by Maximiliane Rall.
