Barbora Strycova and Su-Wei Hsieh won the women’s doubles title at Wimbledon 2023

Barbora Strycova (Czech Republic) and Su-Wei Hsieh (Taiwan) won the women’s doubles title at Wimbledon 2023. In the final, the two defeated third-seeded Storm Hunter (Australia) and Elise Mertens (Belgium) by 2-0 (7:5, 6:4) in 1:51 hours.

Barbora Strycova kept her promise to play one last time at Wimbledon after becoming a mother, in a team with Su-Wei Hsieh, with whom she triumphed here in 2019. For the Czech tennis player, this is her second doubles Grand Slam title, and for the Taiwanese woman – the sixth in her career.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better ending, could I? I don’t want to talk too much because I don’t want to be so emotional”, said Barbora Strycova during the on-court interview.

Barbora Strycova has vowed to play on London’s grass courts for the last time after stepping down from tennis to give birth to her first child in 2021. She returned this spring and along with Su-Wei Hsieh cruised to the trophy, dropping just one set on their way to it.
