The Czech tennis player Barbora Krejcikova won the title at the WTA 250 Tallinn Open with a prize fund of 251,750 EUR. In the final, the 7th-seeded Czech player won by 2-0 (6:2, 6:3) against the top-seeded Anett Kontaveit in 81 minutes.
Barbora Krejcikova, who is the world’s No 27, took the lead after twice breaking the serve of her opponent in the first set.
In the second set, a total of five breaks were recorded, and the decisive one was for 5:3 in favor of the Czech tennis player.
This is Barbora Krejcikova’s first singles title of the season and the fourth overall of her career. This is the sixth success for the 2021 Roland Garros champion against a player in the Top 10 of the WTA ranking.
Barbora Krejcikova is a Czech professional tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking of world No 2, achieved on February 28, 2022, and on October 22, 2018, she became world No 1 in doubles.
Barbora Krejcikova has won one Grand Slam singles title and nine major doubles titles, including the career Super Slam in doubles. She won the 2021 French Open singles title, the women’s doubles titles at the 2018 French Open, 2018 Wimbledon Championships, 2021 French Open, 2022 Australian Open, 2022 Wimbledon Championships and 2022 US Open partnering Kateřina Siniaková, and the mixed doubles titles at the 2019 and 2021 Australian Opens partnering Rajeev Ram, and in 2020 with Nikola Mektic. She is one of only three active female players to have won a major title in all three disciplines, after Venus Williams and Samantha Stosur.
