The top-seeded Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic defended their Australian Open women’s doubles title. The 2022 champions defeated the tenth-seeded Japanese Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara in the final with 2-0 (6:4, 6:3). The match lasted an hour and 30 minutes.
The Melbourne title is the seventh for Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova in the women’s doubles Grand Slam.
The Czech tennis players made a break in the first game of the match and then led 2:0. They outplayed the Japanese women in the first set and won it 6:4. The second set started the same way, with Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova winning serve from Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara for a 2:0 lead, but the Japanese equalized at 2:2 with a break in the fourth game, then turned it around to make it 3:2. However, the Czech women won the next four games and rejoiced after 6:3.

Barbora Krejcikova added that it was a pleasure to play in front of the crowd in Melbourne and said: “Thank you to our compatriots.
