Barbora Krejcikova advanced to the semifinals of the WTA 500 San Diego Open

Fourth-seeded Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic) advanced to the semifinals of the WTA 500 San Diego Open tennis tournament with a prize pool of 780,637 USD.

The American tennis players Sofia Kenin, Danielle Collins and Emma Navarro also entered the top 4 of the tournament.

The 27-year-old Barbora Krejcikova defeated the 7th-seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia (Brazil) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:3) in an hour and 43 minutes of play. The Czech tennis player, who is WTA No 13, started the match very strongly, leading 5:1 in the first set and winning it 6:4. In the second set, she took a lead of 3:1 and closed the match with 6:3.

Her rival in the dispute for the final will be Danielle Collins, who defeated the second-seeded Caroline Garcia (France) by 2-0 (6:2, 6:3). The American gave her opponent no chance in the match and defeated her in just 68 minutes of play.

Sofia Kenin overcame Anastasia Potapova (Russia) in the quarter-finals by 2-0 (6:2, 6:3) in a match that lasted one hour and 18 minutes and will face 22-year-old Emma Navarro, who eliminated third seed Maria Sakkari (Greece) after 2-1 (6:4, 0:6, 7:6).

The match between Emma Navarro and Maria Sakkari lasted two hours and 15 minutes, as the two exchanged one break each to reach 6:6, and in the tiebreak, Emma Navarro led 5-1 and reached success.
