Australian boxer Skye Nicolson

Skye Nicolson is an Australian professional boxer. She holds the WBC Silver Featherweight title, as well as the WBC Interim World Featherweight title. Her personal professional boxing record is 8-0-0 (W-L-D).

Skye Nicolson was born on August 27, 1995, in Meadowbrook, Queensland, Australia. She started training in boxing at the age of 12. She was from a boxing family with her older brother being one of the biggest talents in Australian boxing.

As an amateur, Skye Nicolson won the bronze at the 2018 World Championships in the Welterweight division. In the next years, she moved down 4 weight classes to the featherweight division, winning the gold at the featherweight event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Skye Nicolson also competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, reaching the quarterfinals. She retired from amateur competition with a record of 107–32.

Skye Nicolson made her professional debut on March 5, 2022, facing the unbeaten Jessica Juarez (USA). The Australian boxer won the fight via unanimous decision (60-54, 59-55, 60-54). A few days later, she recorded her second professional win, defeating Bec Connolly (UK) by points 60-54.

On April 30, 2022, Skye Nicolson faced Shanecqua Paisley Davis in Madison Square Garden, New York. Her bout was a preliminary fight for the two main events but was one of the most interesting. The Australian boxer smashed her opponent and knocked her down in the fifth round and in the end won the fight via unanimous decision (60-53, 60-53, 60-53).

Skye Nicolson achieved her fourth win in June 2022, defeating Gabriela Bouvier by points, keeping her unbeaten record.

On October 15, 2022, Skye Nicolson won her first major title, defeating in Krystina Jacobs in South Bank Piazza, South Brisbane, Australia, by unanimous decision (98-91, 100-89, 99-90) to triumph with the vacant Commonwealth Boxing Council Featherweight title.

On February 4, 2023, Skye Nicolson faced the unbeaten Tania Alvarez (Spain) in Madison Square Garden Theater, New York for the WBC Silver Featherweight title. The Australian boxer won the fight via unanimous decision (97-93, 97-93, 100-90) and triumphed with another belt.

In April 2023, Skye Nicolson recorded her seventh win, defeating Linda Laura Lecca by points.

On September 15, 2023, Skye Nicolson won her most prestigious title so far, triumphing with the WBC Interim World Featherweight title after defeating Sabrina Maribel in Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno, Tijuana.

Skye Nicolson is one of the best featherweight professional female boxers. She is still unbeaten and has a bright future in the female boxing.
