Atletico Madrid Women

Atletico Madrid failed to compensate the loss of 2-0 in the first match versus Chelsea and left the battle for the Europe Champions League Women. The Spanish team ended their home match versus the British women at a draw 1-1 and with an aggregate score of 1-3 relegated from the tournament.

The match started with pressure from Atletico Madrid, which had higher ball possession and made some dangerous attacks, but failed to score. The first half ended without goals.

During the second half, the head coach of Atletico Madrid Jose Luis Sanchez made some changes in an attempt to change the gameplay and make his team more offensive. However, the defense of Chelsea was strong enough and they did not allow their opponents to score. However, the Spanish team was awarded with a penalty kick in the 75th minute, which was about to make the match very interesting for the last 15 minutes. However, Toni Duggan missed and the result remained 0-0.

During a counter-attack in the 77th minute, Chelsea was also awarded with a penalty kick. However, their midfielder Maren Mjelde did not miss and gave an advantage to the British team, which made them in a very comfortable position.

However, in the very last minutes, Atletico Madrid reached the draw after Emelyne Laurent scored.

Thus with an aggregate score of 3-1, Chelsea qualified for the quarter-finals of the Europe Champions League Women.
