Aryna Sabalenka will play in the final of the WTA 1000 Rome Open

Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) will play in the final of the WTA 1000 Rome Open tournament for the first time in her career. The tennis player from Belarus defeated Danielle Collins (USA) by 2-0 (7:5 6:2) and will face Iga Swiatek (Poland), the leader in the world rankings, in a dispute for the trophy. The two also faced each other in the final in Madrid, won by the Polish player.

The match was contested only in the first set. Aryna Sabalenka saved a break point in the third game and immediately broke back for a 3:1 lead. Danielle Collins had some strong minutes and equalized to 4:4, but when she was serving to reach the tiebreak, Aryna Sabalenka broke her serve and won the set.

The Belarusian tennis player completely dominated the beginning of the second set. The Australian Open champion took the first three games, largely breaking her opponent’s resistance. Danielle Collins had some good matches, but at no point did she seriously disturbed Aryna Sabalenka, who won her sixth straight match between them.

The match lasted 1 hour and 24 minutes. Aryna Sabalenka hit 4 aces and committed only one double fault. The Belarusian was very efficient on first serve points (74%) and converted 4 of her 7 break points.
