Aryna Sabalenka qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 500 Adelaide International

Second-seeded Aryna Sabalenka qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 500 Adelaide International 1. The Belarusian tennis player defeated Marketa Vondrousova (Czech Republic) by 2-0 (6:3, 7:5) in 1:34 hours.

Aryna Sabalenka scored 6 aces and made 4 double faults, winning 73% of the 1st Serve Points.

The first set started equally with both players winning their serve games. However, in the fourth game Marketa Vondrousova needed to save 3 break points to win the game. The inevitable happened in the sixth game, when Aryna Sabalenka finally succeeded to break the serve of her opponent and took a lead of 4:2. The Belarusian missed two set points in the eighth game, but finally closed the set on zero on her own serve.

The second set started with two early breaks for Aryna Sabalenka, who took a serious lead of 4:1. However, she lost the control of the match and missed a match points in the 9th game and Marketa Vondrousova succeeded to equalize 5:5. Finally, Aryna Sabalenka succeded to return again in the set and immediately broke again her opponent and closed the match on her own serve from the third match point.

In the next round, Aryna Sabalenka will face Romanian tennis player Irina-Camelia Begu, who sensationaly defeated the fourth-seeded Veronika Kudermetova by 2-0 (7:5, 6:4).
