Aryna Sabalenka advanced to the semis of the AO 2024 after a straight-set victory versus Barbora Krejcikova

The second-seeded Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) advanced to the semi-finals of the Australian Open after a straight-set victory versus Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic). The Belarusian tennis player won the match by 2-0 (6:2, 6:3) in 71 minutes, making total of 6 breaks of the serve of her opponent.

The first set started with both players winning their serve games, but Aryna Sabalenka took the initiative and won the next 3 games in a row, achieving two breaks. Barbora Krejcikova immediately returned one of the breaks “on 15”, but her opponent won the next two games and won the set at 6:2.

The second set followed the similar with Aryna Sabalenka taking a lead of 4:1 and closing the set at 6:3 after three breaks of the serve of her opponent.

The Belarusian tennis player recorded 4 aces and 20 winners against 3 double faults and 24 unforced errors for her opponent.

In the semi-finals, Aryna Sabalenka will face the 4th-seeded Coco Gauff (USA).
