Aryna Sabalenka advanced to the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart

The second-seeded Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) advanced to the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart with a prize pool of more than 678,000 EUR. The Belarusian tennis player, who is the runner-up of the tournament in the last two seasons, eliminated Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic) by 2-0 (6:2, 6:3) in only 67 minutes.

Aryna Sabalenka made two breaks in the first set and one in the second, which proved to be enough for the victory. In the quarter-final, she will face the winner of the all-Spanish clash between Paula Badosa and Cristina Bucsa.

The third-seeded Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) also advanced to the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart after defeating Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia) by 2-1 (1:6, 7:5, 6:3) in 2:05 hours.

Tha Tunisia player started terribly the match after losing the first set by 1:6 and Jelena Ostapenko served for the match at 4:5 in the second set. This was the cornerstone of the match for Ons Jabeur who broke her opponent and won the next two games to win the set and equalize the result. In the third set, she used the impetus from her improved play and won by 6:3 with two breaks.

In the next round, she will face the winner between Beatriz Haddad Maia (Brazil) and the 6th-seeded Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan).
