Arsenal WFC keeps chances for top 3 after victory versus Liverpool FC Women

Arsenal WFC defeated Liverpool FC Women by 2-0, keeping their chances for the Top 3 of England’s Women’s Super League. Thus, Arsenal WFC is 4th in the standings with 29 points, just 3 points from the Top 3, but with one match less.

Stina Blackstenius gave an advance for the hosts from Arsenal WFC in the 28th minute, while Caitlin Foord scored for 2-0 in 34′ to give a comfortable lead for her team. This was enough and by the end of the match, Arsenal WFC kept a clean sheet to record their 9th victory for the season.

Liverpool FC Women continue their poor performance during the season and have only 11 points in 13 matches, being on 8th position.

In another match from England’s Women’s Super League today, Chelsea FC Women climbed to 2nd position in the standings after a 3-1 (2-0) victory versus Brighton & Hove Albion WFC.

Guro Reiten (12′) and Jessica Carter (21′) gave a lead to Chelsea FC Women in the first half, and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd (71′) cemented the match in the second half. Danielle Carter scored for Brighton & Hove Albion WFC at the very end of the match to form the final score of 3-1.
