Multiple world and European champions Arina Averina and Dina Averina will demonstratively participate in the Russian rhythmic gymnastics championship, which will be held from February 24 to March 5 in Moscow. This was reported by the president of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and the senior coach of the national team, Irina Viner.
“They will participate in gala performances scheduled for February 22 and March 4, the Russian championships and the Champions Cup in March”, said Irina Viner. The Russians also intend to start at the national championship. “If we manage to prepare, if we are alive and well, of course we will participate in the Russian championship”, added Irina Viner.
The last time Arina Averina and Dina Averina sisters participated in a competition was in September – at a rhythmic gymnastics tournament that was part of the Russian Spartakiad.
Dina Averina is an 18-time world champion, while sister Arina is a five-time world gold medallist.
