The All-Star Pole Vault Tournament was held in Clermont-Ferrand on February 19.
World champion and Olympic silver medalist Anzhelika Sidorova is showing excellent form this winter. She won the women’s pole vault competition with a new best result in the world for the season – 4.87 m, achieved in the third attempt. This is 2 cm higher than the result of her victory in Lievin days ago. After that, the Russian made two attempts at 5.00 m, but without success.
Another talented Russian athlete, Polina Knoroz, finished second, with a new personal absolute best of 4.81 m. The 22-year-old athlete has not jumped such a height in her career. The Slovenian Tina Sutej was third with a new national record – 4.75 m.
Anzhelika Sidorova is a Russian pole vaulter, who won a gold medal at the 2019 World Championships and a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She also won silver medals at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships and 2013 European Athletics U23 Championships, and a bronze medal at the 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships. Her personal best is 5.01 m, set at the 2021 Zurich Diamond League finals, becoming one of only three women in the world to clear 5.00 m outdoors
