The 38-year-old Greek athlete Antigoni Drisbioti won the European title in the 20km race walking in Munich with a personal record of 1:29:03. For her, this is the second title from the European Athletics Championships after 35km.
Antigoni Drisbioti was a few meters behind the leading group and in 10th place at the 10th km and increased her pace to enter the top three after the 11th km.
Second in the race finished the World Vice-Champion at the longer distance of Katarzyna Zdzieblo from Poland with 1:29:20, and third is the German Saskia Feige with a personal record of 1:29:25 am.
Antigoni Drisbioti is a race walker athlete who represented Greece at the 2020 Olympics taking 8th place and at the 2016 Olympics, finishing in 15th place. She also competed at the 2013 World Championships and at the 2014 European Championships, while she won the bronze medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin.
