Anthonique Strachan made a strong start to the 2023 summer season

Bahamian sprinter Anthonique Strachan made a strong start to the 2023 summer season, winning the 100m in Kingston, Jamaica with a time of 11.02 sec. In the heat series, she ran 11.42 sec, but in the final, she drastically corrected this achievement and with 11.02 sec took second place in the world rankings for the season.

Only New Zealander Zoe Hobbs was faster than her with 10.97 sec from March 11.

“I am very satisfied with my time. I didn’t have the best race. Overall, it showed me what I needed to work on. I feel good this season. We’ve been able to pick up where I left off last season so I can build on it for the World Championships in Budapest in August”, said Anthonique Strachan.

The Bahamian sprinter made a strong start to the season in 2022 as well, when she recorded 10.99 sec in the 100m at the same stadium.

Anthonique Strachan is the 100m and 200m at the 2012 World Junior Championships. She competed at the London 2012, Rio 2016 and the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, in the 200m and 4x400m relay.
