Anna Swenn-Larsson won the alpine skiing World Cup slalom in Soldeu

Anna Swenn-Larsson (Sweden) won the slalom in the Andorran winter center Soldeu and for the first time in her career finished on the podium in two consecutive starts of the discipline. Anna Swenn-Larsson was third in Jasna on January 21 and has now won the race with her closest competitors Zrinka Ljutic (Croatia) on +0.35 sec and Paula Moltzan (USA) on +0.83 sec.

Another big news from the Soldeu race is that Mikaela Shiffrin can’t yet celebrate winning the small crystal globe in slalom. The American star missed the race weekend in Andorra, and in order to secure the early prize, her biggest rival Lena Duerr (Germany) had to finish outside the top 9.

However, the German recorded the sixth time and continues to maintain the intrigue for the small crystal globe. Mikaela Shiffrin is the leader with 630 points, and the second Petra Vlhova (Slovakia) is out until the end of the season due to an injury after a heavy fall. Lena Duerr already has 442 points, and a maximum of 200 more can be won by the end of the campaign in the discipline.

Anna Swenn-Larsson is actually the third slalom winner in the last 11 starts together with Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova. Mikaela Shiffrin won six times and the Slovakian skier won four times, but for obvious reasons both did not appear in Soldeu.

Rounding out the top 10 in the Andorran slalom were Michelle Gisin, Camille Rast, Lena Duerr, Ali Nullmeyer, Katharina Troupe, Katharina Liensberger and Chiara Pogneaux.
