Anna Gasser defended her snowboard Big Air title at the Beijing 2022 Olympics

Austrian snowboarder Anna Gasser defended her Big Air title at the Beijing 2022 Olympics.

The 30-year-old Anna Gasser, the 2017 world champion from Sierra Nevada, made a great last attempt and with 185.50 points moved Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (New Zealand) from the first place to secure the gold.

Zoi Sadowski-Synnott was close to the second title in Beijing after her slopestyle triumph on February 6th, but this time he was left with the silver with 177.00 points.

For the 20-year-old New Zealander, this was the third Olympic medal after a bronze medal in the Big Air in PyeongChang 2018.

Kokomo Murase (Japan) won the bronze with 171.50 points. Thus, the 17-year-old Kokomo Murase, who has only one victory in her career for the World Cup, recorded her most significant sporting achievement so far.

Another Japanese girl, Reira Iwabuchi, again missed a place on the podium. With 166.00 points she finished fourth in the second consecutive Olympics.

World champion Laurie Blouin (Canada) failed to land two of her three attempts in the final and finished eighth with 115.0 points.
