Anna Bondar qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Transylvania Open

The 8th-seeded Hungarian tennis player Anna Bondar qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Transylvania Open in Cluj-Napoca, Romania after a straight-set victory. The Hungarian player won versus Harriet Dart (UK) by 2-0 (7:6, 6:4) after almost 2 hours of play.

The match started perfectly for Harriet Dart, who took an early advantage after a break in the first game. She kept the advantage and served for the set, when Anna Bondar succeeded to return the break from the second breakpoint and turned the set into a tiebreak. She used the impetus from the equalizer and won the tiebreak by 7-3.

In the second set, Anna Bondar took an early advantage after a break in the third game. At 5:4, when serving for the match, she was forced to save four breaks before winning.

Thus, Anna Bondar qualified for the quarter-finals, where will face the winner between Viktorija Golubic and Anastasia Potapova.

In the other matches of the day, Jule Niemeier defeated Kamilla Rakhimova by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4) to qualify for the quarter-finals, where will face the Italian tennis player Jasmine Paolini who eliminated Dayana Yastremska (Ukraine) by 2:0 (6:4, 6:1).

The Hungarian player Dalma Galfi won her first-round match versus Lucia Bronzetti by 2-1 (4:6, 6:2, 6:4), while Chinese Xinyu Wang defeated Magda Linette by 2-0 (6:2, 6:4).
