Former world number one Angelique Kerber has no plans to end her competitive career after the Paris 2024 Olympics.
“I don’t think the 2024 Olympics will be my last tournament”, said Angelique Kerber at the launch of her book “Eine Frage des Willens: Mein Weg nach oben” (“A Question of Will: My Way to the Top”).
Angelique Kerber, 34, is currently on hiatus as she is expecting her first child. The German has not set a specific date for her return to the court and will not rush it.
“No one knows what will happen. I will use all the time I need. When I come back, I want it to be in the best way”, added the three-time Grand Slam champion.
Recently, Angelique Kerber stated that her goal is to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris.
Angelique Kerber is a German professional tennis player, who has been ranked as high as world No 1 for a total of 34 weeks, and won three major titles at the 2016 Australian Open, the 2016 US Open, and the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. She is also an Olympic silver medalist and was the year-end world number one in 2016.
