Angelina Topic won the high jump gold at the Doha Diamond League

The Serbian athletics talent Angelina Topic achieved high jump victory at the Doha Diamond League. The 18-year-old Serbian athlete, who has a European women’s bronze medal from Munich 2022, had a very good run and was perfect at 1.80m to 1.94m, which took her first place. Angelina Topic also attacked 1.98m, which would have been a personal best for her, but failed at that height. However, in her first attempt, the Serbian was very close to successfully clearing the bar.

Second place in the women’s high jump sector went to Iryna Gerashchenko (Ukraine) with 1.91m. She cleared the height on her first attempt and then made three faults at 1.94m.

Eugene 2022 world champion Eleanor Patterson (Australia) placed third with 1.91m as well, but covered it on the third attempt.

Angelina Topic is a Serbian athlete specializing in the high jump. At the age of 17, she won the bronze medal at the 2022 European Athletics Championships, becoming the youngest medalist of the entire championships. The same year, Angelina Topic earned also bronze at the World Under-20 Championships. She is the current Serbian record holder for the high jump indoors and out, and also holds joint world U18 best outdoors.
