Angelina Kohler won the 100m butterfly gold at the Doha World Swimming Championships

Angelina Kohler (Germany) won the 100m butterfly gold at the Doha World Swimming Championships. The German swimmer led throughout the distance and finished in 56.28 sec. Second was Claire Curzan (USA) with 56.61 sec, and the bronze medal went to Louise Hansson (Sweden) with 56.94 sec.

In the semis, Angelina Kohler improved the national record in the event after winning her series in 56.11 sec.

Angelina Kohler has won the silver medal in the 100m butterfly and the bronze medal in the 50m butterfly event at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Meanwhile, Kate Douglass (USA) secured the USA’s second gold by defending her world title in the 200m individual medley. Kate Douglass finished in 2:07.05 min and improved his personal best in the event. The second was Canadian swimmer Sydney Pickrem with 2:08.56 min, and the bronze went to the Chinese swimmer Ying Yu with 2:09.01 min.

Kate Douglass is a versatile swimmer who competes in many events. She won her first major international medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with a bronze in the 200m individual medley. She won three medals at the 2022 World Championships. She then won six medals, including two golds, at the 2023 World Championships.
