Anett Kontaveit and Bernarda Pera will play for the title of the WTA 250 Hamburg Open. Both players reached the finals with straight-set victories and will play on July 23.
Anett Kontaveit defeated Anastasia Potapova with 2-0 (6:3, 7:5) in a match that lasted 104 minutes. The Estonian won 49% of the 1st serve and 56% of the 2nd serve points and saved 8 break points to win the match.
Bernarda Pera defeated Maryna Zanevska with 2-0 (6:2, 6:4) without any problems for 82 minutes. The American had a total dominance in the match and took the lead in the first set with two breaks. Despite of losing her serve game in sixth game, she did not lost the control of the match and won the set with 6:2. In the second, Bernarda Pera registered only on break, but kept her advance by the end and finally got the win, qualifying for the final.
Since the beginning of the year, Anett Kontaveit won the title at the WTA 500 St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy and was the runner-up of the WTA 1000 Qatar Total Open, while her opponent won the title of the WTA 250 Hungarian Grand Prix and was the runner-up of the WTA 125 Liqui Moly Open Karlsruhe.
