Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis

Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis in Tokyo, Japan. The Russian player defeated the Czech talent Linda Noskova by 2-1 (6:3, 4:6, 6:0) in 2:12 hours of play.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova started the first set strongly and after making a break in the 3rd game did not lose the initiative and succeeded to close the set at 6:3 with a second break.

The second set started quite more equally with both players winning their serve games, although quite hard. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova saved two breakpoint in the 3rd game, while Linda Noskova saved three breakpoint in the 4th games and another five in the 6th game, but finally succeeded to keep the score draw at 3:3. However, in the 7th game of the set, the Czech tennis talent received three more breakoints at 0-40 and succeeded to realize the second of them to take a lead with a break. By the end of the set she did not give a breakpoint to her opponent and succeeded to close the set at 6:4 in her favor.

The third set started also quite equally as in the 1st game, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova won hardly her serve passing through deuce. However, the second game of the set, at the serve of Linda Noskova, the Russian player received two breakpoint at 15-40, which her opponent saved. The game continued with both players trying to take advantage and Linda Noskova missed four chances to close the game and saved another two breakpoint, before finally Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova succeeded to break her. This was a cornerstone in the match, as after that the Russian tennis player won the next two games to lead by 4:0, saved two breakpoint to extend her win to 5:0 and finally closed the set at 6:0.

In the next round, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova will face her compatriot Ekaterina Alexandrova.

The Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina also advanced to the quarter-finals, defeating Despina Papamichail (Greece) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4) and will face Jessica Pegula (USA).

The 5th-seeded Caroline Garcia (France) also qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament after eliminating Anhelina Kalinina (Ukraine) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:3) and will face the 4th-seeded Maria Sakkari (Greece), who defeated Misaki Doi (Japan) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:1).
